Pets in my life or childhood pets:
I have had many animals over the period of my life. At one point I had 21 animals! I have had many different species and breeds. I currently have one dog; Baxter, three cats; Mr.Nugget, Leo, and Apollo, three ferrets; Bella, Bear and Bean, two hedgehogs; Violet and Lily, a western hognose named Sassafras (due to her VERY sassy nature) and a hairless rat named Magnolia (we like to call her Maggie!). I love each of my animals more than anything and I don’t know what I would do without them!
What I enjoy most about being a pet sitter:
I love meeting new animals because each has their very own personality! Animals are kind and loving and I believe they are as much a part of the family as a son or daughter. Knowing that I get to make these dogs happy for the time I’m with them gives me so much happiness I can’t help to be excited for every new day!
Funniest pet moment:
My funniest moment would have to be the first time I saw my ferret, Bear, do his “war dance”. This is when he arches his back and jumps up and down while wiggling! It’s very funny to watch and starts a chain reaction with the other two until they’re all hopping around like they’re dancing!
What animals teach us:
Animals teach us that no matter how much or how little you have, there will always be a way to be happy. They will love you with all their heart and always have their tail wagging when they see you! They are pure love and no matter what is happening around them you just have to stay positive and wait for that next walk!
Experience with animals with Special needs:
My current dog Baxter has severe anxiety and minor seizures so I have to keep him calm majority of the time. When I was younger I had helped taken care of my first cat Pippin, giving him insulin and caring for him with his kidney disease. I have also worked at a pet store administering medicine to sick and injured animals on a daily basis.
