Night/Weekend Pet Sitter

Pets in my life or my pets or childhood pets?

I have a huge heart when it comes to pets!  I get teased at work and by all of my friends because I have so many!  My dream would be to live on a farm and take in as many rescues as I could!  Right now I have some rescue babies and I have my own. I’ve always been the one over the years that people called when they didn’t want their pet anymore.  I love and adore each and every one of my pets, they are literally my children!  Josie and Shakespeare have made extra impressions on me because of their big personalities though.  To say they are my favorite…I’d feel bad but I am their favorite over my husband hahah. Josie is a Pit-bull mix that has been through some things in her past I’ll never know but I plan to show her each day she is loved and to always make her feel safe.  Shakespeare was given to me by a friend at work.  He is a Chihuahua with the BIGGEST personality.

What I enjoy most about being a pet sitter/dog walker?

Getting to do what I love the most! Spending time with cats and dogs!!!

My funniest pet moment:

I used to have this little yorkie chi mix and whenever I would heard out for the door I would look over and she would be sitting in my purse ready to go.  It was hilarious

What do animals teach us?

They have taught me responsibility, compassion, unconditional love.  I have learned that there are so many dogs and cats out there that having litters isn’t necessary and spading and neutering is really the way to go for your animals.  I have learned that giving animals their shots is a necessary thing.

Experience with Special needs dogs?

Yes, I rescued an elderly chi mix several years ago that had her eye injured by a stick and only had one eye because of it.  Her owners didn’t want it anymore so I drove to Western, KY and picked her up and made her mine.  I gave her the best life I could and treated her just like any other dog despite her differences.  Now she needed to know she could trust me more of course because only having one eye made her very untrusting of her surroundings so I made sure she felt safe and loved always.
